The City of Yuma Centennial Celebration continues at the new Yuma Valley Park on Saturday, October 25th, at 1pm, where the third time capsule, sponsored by Yuma Sun, will be buried as part of the City’s Centennial Celebration. This is the third in a series of four time capsules to be buried in honor of the centennial.
The time capsule will be opened in 50 years, and we are encouraging local children to help us fill it with designs and ideas of what Yuma will be like in the year 2064. They can let their imaginations run free – flying cars, robots, spaceships – it’s up to them! Ideas can be drawn, written, colored, or painted on a paper no larger than 8.5 x 11 inches (letter size).
Submissions can be dropped off at one of the following locations by Friday, October 17, 2014.
- City Hall, One City Plaza
- Yuma Civic Center, 1440 W Desert Hills Drive
- Yuma Art Center, 254 S Main Street
- Yuma Sun, 2055 S Arizona Avenue
This event is free to attend and open to all ages.
